This program responds to needs identified by Queensland Transport, Queensland Police, Queensland Health, community representatives, parents, care givers and teachers to take a proactive and community responsive approach to driver education and road safety for young people
The Licence 4 Life program consists of three distinct courses; Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3:
- Licence 4 Life – Level 1 is a course focused on developing a positive self-identity and an awareness of responsible citizenship within the context of pre-driver education, career and future pathways planning.
- Licence 4 Life – Level 2 is a course focused on responsible citizenship within the context of driver education and future pathways planning. Attaining a Learner Licence is a key outcome of Licence 4 Life – Level 2.
- Licence 4 Life – Level 3 is a course focused on community capacity building through future pathways and working with government within the context of driver education and gaining licenses for other life contexts. Attaining a Provisional Licence is a key outcome of Licence 4 Life – Level 3, although this is not a mandatory requirement for completion of the course.
Each Licence 4 Life level will be completed separately, taking a minimum of 80 hours including pre-course and post course evaluation and confirmation. The learning times can be flexible around your school timetables. Successful completion of the Licence 4 Life program is achieved by young people who successfully complete ALL three courses (Levels 1-3). Qld students may also be eligible for 4 QCE points.
